Guerilla Games and NCSoft have finally shed light on the much-anticipated Horizon-based MMORPG. The game, titled “Horizon Steel Frontiers,” is set to launch on PC and mobile platforms within the next couple of years. However, this isn’t the only multiplayer adventure in the Horizon universe that Guerilla Games is crafting.
Two Multiplayer Horizon Adventures in the Works
Recent rumors surrounded the Horizon multiplayer game, centering on the upcoming MMORPG. According to insights from Bloomberg’s Jason Schreier, Guerilla Games is also developing another distinct multiplayer game, separate from “Horizon Steel Frontiers.” Schreier emphasized on Bluesky that while the NCSoft MMO is making waves, the multiplayer Horizon game is Guerilla’s next major undertaking.
Platform and Release Speculations
While “Horizon Steel Frontiers” focuses on PC and mobile, the new multiplayer project from Guerilla is expected to include Sony’s PS5 in its platform lineup, alongside PC. This move suggests a broader audience reach, maintaining cross-platform availability.
Now that “Steel Frontiers” has been publicly unveiled, anticipation builds around Guerilla’s other project, which fans hope will soon emerge from the shadows. Studio director Jan-Bart van Beek previously committed to expanding the Horizon franchise, with multiplayer games being a key element of their plans. The dedication to expanding the Horizon universe indicates more thrilling adventures on the horizon.
