Meet the 16 roommates and competitors vying for $500,000 in the newest season of summer's guiltiest pleasure.

By Nate Millado

Well, that was unexpected! For the first time ever, Big Brother introduced the Houseguests competing for a half-million-dollar prize during a live move-in event. To mark the 20th anniversary of summer's guiltiest pleasure, BB22 is an all-star affair, with a cast comprising past winners, runners-up, memorable personalities, and some of the best to never win the game. They all have one thing in common: something to prove. Host Julie Chen Moonves—aka The Chenbot—welcomed mask-wearing competitors into the studio in pods of four, chatting with them from a safe 12-foot distance. Meet the 16 returning players vying for another shot at $500K—and BB glory!

Watch all-new episodes of Big Brother on Sundays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays at 8/7c on CBS and CBS All Access.

Plus, drop in on the Houseguests 24/7 with the BB Live Feeds—exclusively available on CBS All Access.

Christmas Abbott came into Season 19 with guns blazing—until she broke her foot during the first week in the house. She had surgery and remained in the game, but ultimately placed third. Other than nixing any potential piggyback rides, Christmas' strategy, she says, is to be herself: "I will listen, watch carefully, and know who to trust, and I will take that big shot when I get a chance!"

Occupation: Soccer coach

In his first BB appearance, Cody Calafiore finished second to ally Derrick Levasseur. So does the Hitman have what it takes to win it all? It won't be easy. "The most difficult aspect this time around will be playing the game with people that have already watched me and know exactly who I am," he admits. But if it ain't broke, don't fix it: Cody plans to stick to his Season 16 strategy. "I want to be friendly and honest so people feel comfortable opening up to me. I will find one person in the house that I will go through information and stories with, to cross-check if people are lying. I don't want to be too close to my closest ally, because I do not want people using our names in the same sentence. I want to win as many competitions as I can to keep myself and my closest allies safe."

She returned for Season 13 and while she didn't take home the money, she ended up with something even better: her future husband, Dominic, whom she met in the BB house. Dani intends to lie low for the first half…"and then turn the house upside down."

David Alexander played a solid social game during his short stay in the house in Season 21. But thanks to a surprise opening-night twist—this is Big Brother, after all—his game was cut short. David is looking to lay low as a "non-threat," but is also looking forward to finally "competing in an HoH, to actually voting, and just playing this very interesting social game."

Is third time the charm? Da'Vonne Rogers has played Big Brother twice now—and lost twice. So now she's ripping up the playbook and coming into All-Stars with no preconceived strategy. Da'Vonne can lean on her intuition, though: She was the first Houseguest to figure out the twin twist in Season 17. "I genuinely love this game," she says. "It's hard as hell and it will drive you crazy, but it's so much fun to play. When I was evicted during Season 18, I told Julie that I'd play this game again and again and again, and I meant that."

Enzo Palumbo was the founding member of The Brigade, one of the most famous and successful alliances in Big Brother history that helped him get to the final 3. Although he didn't win, he found the game almost too easy—so "The Meow-Meow" is looking to be challenged this time around. "I want to play to seal my legacy," he says, "not only as being part of one of the best alliances, but now one of the greatest to ever play!"

The student became the teacher as Ian Terry bested his mentor, BB legend Dan Gheesling, to win Season 14. But being one of only two winners in the BB22 cast (the other is Nicole Franzel) paints a target on his back. Ian wants to up his social game a bit "just to make sure I don't get frozen out for being unpopular," he says. "Following that, hibernate. Toward the end of the game, I will ramp up and utilize my competition ability and take advantage of the game's structure."

Janelle Pierzina cemented her place as a BB legend by finishing third two seasons in a row and winning the first America's Favorite Houseguest in Season 6. Now that she's older and wiser, what will Janelle do to secure victory? "I have never played a cutthroat game," she says. "This time around, I will." Three words: Bye, bye bitches!

How much does America love Kaysar Ridha? In Season 6, he was the first Houseguest voted back into the game by the viewers. Along with his Sovereign Six ally Janelle, this is his second Big Brother: All-Stars season. He's never made Jury, which he finds "embarrassing." So Kaysar is hoping to model his winning strategy after Season 16 champ Derrick Levasseur. "He played a very respectable game," Kaysar says. "He was controlled and had the ability to tap into what motivated others in order to help himself. Often without them even knowing."

This time I'm playing loud and proud." Fun fact: Nicole is engaged to her fellow Season 18 Houseguest Victor Arroyo.
