Devils is based on a novel by Italian trader Guido Maria Brera, inspired in part by 2008's global financial crisis. It's set in the London office of NYL, one of the world's leading investment banks.

Dominic Morgan (Patrick Dempsey) is the bank's CEO—and the guy who introduces Massimo Ruggero (Alessandro Borghi) to the finance world. And yet, Dominic promotes another colleague over Massimo. To top it off, Massimo finds himself the prime suspect in a murder investigation.

With an intercontinental financial war rocking Europe, Massimo must decide whether to side with his mentor (who did him dirty) or go up against him. Read on to find out who's who!

NYL CEO Dominic Morgan is described as one of the most powerful men in global finance with a "trim build and an icy gaze." He's married to Nina (Kasia Smutniak), an heiress from a noble family. Their son, John, is killed in the war in Afghanistan, so Massimo, in a way, fills the void.

But will Dominic betray his "new" son for the sake of his company—and country? Nina harbors a morbid love for Massimo but will do anything to preserve the privileged life she shares with Dominic.

Sofia Flores (Laia Costa) grew up an orphan; her brother killed himself after losing his savings during the Argentinean bank crisis. Now a fiercely independent pickpocket, Sofia teams up with Massimo to exact revenge on Dominic because the NYL caused her brother's bank to fail. But then she discovers that Massimo is hiding something about her past and, well, we won't give too much away.
