The world of Call of Duty esports is buzzing with excitement as The Flank, a renowned esports show, has announced its latest invitational tournament. Fans are set to witness top-tier action in the highly anticipated Call of Duty: Black Ops 7, with elite CDL players gearing up for an intense competition.

The Flank Invitational Details

The fourth installment of The Flank’s invitational event promises an exhilarating contest, with players vying for a share of the $20,000 (~£15,197) prize pool. This tournament marks one of the first opportunities for fans to watch CDL stars compete in the newest chapter of the iconic franchise. Scheduled for November 18th, the tournament will see teams formed through a unique wheel-spinning selection process, with the support of furniture giant Herman Miller.

As anticipation builds, details about the full lineup of participating teams remain under wraps. However, fans can expect the same game modes that will feature in the CDL 2026 season. Notably, Black Ops 7 introduces Overload, a new game mode set to replace Control.

Looking Back and Ahead

Reflecting on last year’s tournament, 12 teams battled for a $25,000 (~£19,006) prize pool, with Thomas ‘Scrap’ Ernst and his team emerging victorious. As the Black Ops 7 season unfolds, the Call of Duty League is set to captivate audiences with thrilling events across Dallas, Atlanta, the UK, and Paris, concluding with the CDL Championship in Las Vegas hosted by the rebranded FaZe Vegas.

The amateur circuit is also undergoing significant changes, offering open LAN tournaments at each Major and introducing Elite seasons for various regions. Players from the Middle East will have their chance to shine as the region joins the European circuit for the first time, enhancing the competitive landscape.
