2XKO Update Weakens Champions, Introduces Learning Hub and Lackluster Ranked Rewards

A wave of excitement is rolling in for “2XKO” fans with a major update slated to launch tomorrow. This update promises to introduce a Learning Hub and a new set of rewards for ranked players. With a focus on both competitive and casual gamers, this update aims to smooth the learning curve and enrich the gaming experience.

Patch 1.0.3 Hits Tomorrow

Patch 1.0.3 is prepared to go live on November 18th, bringing with it champion balancing, bug fixes, and fresh content for newcomers. Online play will be temporarily unavailable from 9 am to 1 pm PST during the update process. The update is crucial for balancing the game and providing a richer experience for all players.

Riot’s 2v2 fighting game has captivated the competitive scene, enticing top FGC professionals to explore its tournaments globally. However, casual gamers have found the game somewhat challenging. Developers have listened to feedback and are striving to bridge this gap with the Learning Hub.

Unpacking the Learning Hub

The Learning Hub is set to debut on November 18th as a new mode under the Play tab: Bot Beatdown. This mode challenges players with four bot matches that progressively increase in difficulty, rewarding them with champion chroma items. Afterward, players can continue to hone their skills against bots set at different difficulty levels: Beginner, Intermediate, and Advanced.

Existing beginner-friendly modes will also be part of the Learning Hub, such as Tutorial, Combo Trials, Advanced Lessons, and Training.

Diving into Ranked Rewards and Champion Updates

For those beyond the beginner level, 2XKO’s Season 0 ranked rewards offer incentives like stickers and titles reflecting the highest rank achieved, from Iron to the top 100 players in each region as Challenge. Diamond-level players and above will also get a “Sleek Chevron Hoodie” avatar item.

In terms of gameplay balance, champions are undergoing significant adjustments. Ekko, who proved too dominant, will see reductions to his Assist capabilities and the power of Timewinder. Blitzcrank benefits from improved steam generation and defenses, while Ahri’s Spirit Rush combo length is curtailed. Teemo’s neutral play is being adjusted for greater balance, and Yasuo faces a damage reduction focused on his Calm stance follow-ups. Players are debating why Yasuo was more heavily nerfed compared to Teemo and are expressing concerns over the game’s limited roster as Season 1 approaches.
