Big changes are coming to the Call of Duty battlefield, as Activision announces a revamped battle pass structure for Season 1 of Black Ops 7. Players can expect a faster progression system, addressing long-standing complaints about the time it takes to unlock content, even with premium and BlackCell versions.
Streamlining the Battle Pass
Activision has taken feedback from previous seasons, specifically Black Ops 6, to enhance the battle pass experience. The new adjustments promise a more rewarding and efficient journey, with earlier battle pass pages offering quicker completion and fewer tiers needed to reach High-Value Target (HVT) content. Later pages will feature richer rewards, allowing players to gather HVT content across all 100 tiers.
Earn Tokens Through Challenges
For the first time, players can earn battle pass tokens by completing daily challenges across various game modes, including Multiplayer, Zombies, Warzone, Co-Op Campaign, and Endgame. On select days, completing a bonus daily challenge will provide a token to unlock a tier instantly. This addition is expected to expedite progression, offering a fresh incentive for regular players.
Season 1 Battle Pass Rewards
Season 1 includes up to 1,100 COD Points, 11 operator skins, 26 blueprints and weapons, and a total of 119 rewards, including 23 free items like two new base weapons. The battle pass is available for 1,100 COD Points, while a bundled option offers 2,400 COD Points and 20 Tokens.
Despite the excitement for these changes, Black Ops 7 has experienced slower sales compared to its predecessors and competitors. Activision has yet to disclose official sales numbers or comment on the game’s market performance. Additionally, a U.S. Congressman has criticized the use of generative AI in the game, prompting calls for regulatory measures to protect jobs.
