AMD Dominates CPU Sales in Germany, Crushing Intel with 93% Revenue Share

The CPU market landscape continues to be dominated by AMD, as Intel struggles to regain its footing. Throughout the year, AMD has maintained a commanding presence over Intel in the client CPU sector, making significant strides globally.

AMD’s Continued Supremacy in CPU Sales

In a consistent pattern, AMD has outpaced Intel in CPU sales, with its Ryzen 7 9800X3D and 7800X3D models leading the charge. The German retailer Mindfactory highlights this trend vividly, reporting the sale of nearly 2,260 AMD CPU units compared to a mere 220 units from Intel in a single week.

Consumer Preferences and Market Trends

Consumer preferences continue to favor AMD, with models like the Ryzen 5 9600X and 7600X gaining traction due to their appealing balance of price and performance. In terms of pricing, the Ryzen 5 5500 remains a popular choice due to its affordability, typically priced between $70 and $90. Meanwhile, higher-end models such as the Ryzen 9800X3D and 9700X offer competitive pricing, pushing AMD’s average selling price over $300, while Intel’s average remains lower at 243 Euros.

Despite Intel’s efforts with its Arrow Lake refresh, including advanced models like the Core Ultra 9 270K Plus and Core Ultra 7 270K Plus, the improvements in gaming performance have not been significant enough to sway consumer preferences. Intel remains firmly under the 10% market share, whereas AMD’s dominance is driven by its superior gaming performance offerings.
