Introducing the AMD Ryzen AI 400 “Gorgon Point”

The excitement around AMD’s Ryzen AI 400 “Gorgon Point” CPUs has been building, with leaks and benchmarks keeping the tech community buzzing. This series, featuring the flagship Ryzen AI 9 HX 470, promises significant enhancements over its predecessor. The Gorgon Point lineup retains the core architecture of its forerunner, utilizing Zen 5 CPU and RDNA 3.5 GPU designs, alongside the XDNA 2 NPU setup. However, it’s the improvements in specs that really stand out—ranging from increased core counts to higher clock speeds and improved iGPUs. Moreover, the NPU performance is expected to reach up to 55 TOPS across multiple SKUs.

Driver Updates and Launch Expectations

AMD has officially confirmed the Ryzen AI 400 series in its latest chipset software driver v7.10.02.711, though this driver version has yet to be made publicly available. Spotted by keen observers, these drivers suggest an imminent release as laptops featuring these new CPUs are expected to become available soon. Currently, AMD’s public driver version is v7.06.02.123, which does not list the Ryzen AI 400 CPUs.

Looking ahead, the Ryzen AI 400 series is anticipated to be a key highlight at CES 2026, where AMD is set to unveil a host of new technologies. Apart from the Gorgon Point CPUs, announcements may include new consumer CPU and APU families, advancements in AI, and even a sneak peek of the Zen 6 CPUs, with a full reveal expected at Computex 2026.
