AMD has quietly unveiled its latest workstation GPUs, the Radeon AI Pro R9700S and R9600D, adding to the excitement in the tech community. These new graphics cards, based on the RDNA 4 architecture, are designed to operate without fans, making them a unique offering for professionals seeking silent performance.
Specifications of the New Radeon AI Pro GPUs
The Radeon AI Pro R9700S and R9600D have been added to AMD’s official product lineup, boasting impressive specifications. Both models feature the NAVI 48 die, similar to the previously released Radeon AI Pro R9700. However, the R9600D is equipped with a reduced configuration of 3,072 Stream Processors compared to the R9700S’s 4,096. This accounts for some of the differences in performance and capabilities between the two models.

The R9700S model maintains high performance with a boost clock of up to 2920 MHz, 32 GB of GDDR6 memory, and a 256-bit memory bus, all housed in a 2-slot passive cooling design. Despite the lack of active cooling, it still supports 47.8 TFLOPS of FP32 compute performance, comparable to its predecessor.
Radeon AI Pro R9600D: A Budget-Friendly Option
The Radeon AI Pro R9600D is a more affordable version with some limitations. It features a reduced shader count, a boost clock of 2020 MHz, and 24.8 TFLOPS of FP32 compute performance. Despite these reductions, it retains 32 GB of GDDR6 memory, making it a suitable choice for budget-conscious professionals requiring substantial VRAM for demanding tasks.

While availability and pricing details are still under wraps, the introduction of these GPUs is expected to appeal to those in need of high-performance, quiet solutions. The Radeon AI Pro R9700S and R9600D’s unique passive cooling design positions them as sleek, silent powerhouses for the professional market.
