Apeks Halts VALORANT Engagements

Due to the current performance reviews of the season, Esports organisation Apeks has decided to suspend its VALORANT undertaking indefinitely.

Apeks has withdrawn from the scene following its relegation from the VCT EMEA and its inability to secure qualification for the highly anticipated VALORANT Champions event in Paris, along with other significant VCT Majors that took place in 2025.

Influential Changes and Financial Constraints

A statement released on the Apeks website indicated that their exit was mainly triggered by the recent decision of Riot Games to change the VCT slot duration from two years to one after the conclusion of the 2024 season. This decision to cancel the running project was taken because of the revised increase in the cost of running the project.

Apeks stated that they are hopeful about creating a solid roster for VCL and returning to the top. However, what is going on right now isn’t what they invested in. The organisation is hopeful for a return and is bidding farewell for now.

The Journey and Challenges Along the Path

On January 10, 2023, Apeks joined VALORANT, where they competed aggressively in the VALORANT Challengers league with success. VCT Ascension EMEA 2024 was won by the team after a 3-2 victory against PCIFIC Esports in the Grand Finals, granting them a spot in the VCT 2025 EMEA Kickoff.

The Apeks VALORANT team have faced a difficult season. It failed to secure a place in any Major championship. The team left early from the VCT EMEA Kickoff event, which caused them to miss the Masters Bangkok. In VCT EMEA Stage 1, Apeks was placed 11th, which meant they did not progress to Masters Toronto, and in VCT EMEA Stage 2, the team was placed 12th, not qualifying once again for VALORANT Champions in Paris.

Over the course of its journey, Apeks managed to sign many players, including Avafluorescentnt” Eugene. The player left the organisation earlier this year to take a break and recharge. Before announcing their choice, Apeks permitted several of its members to explore options as restricted free agents for the 2026 season after the conclusion of EMEA Stage 2.
