Apex Legends is gearing up for an exhilarating new chapter with the announcement of Season 27, aptly named “Amped.” This latest installment promises to deliver a wealth of fresh content and exciting updates to the beloved battle royale game.
Season 27 Launch and Key Details
Launching on November 4th at 10:00 am PT, the new season will bring an array of innovative features and significant changes. Players can look forward to an overhauled Olympus map, a series of balance adjustments, enhanced game mechanics, and much more. Apex Legends enthusiasts are eagerly anticipating the dynamic shifts that Season 27 is set to introduce, particularly the revamped Olympus map and Mantle Boost movement updates.
Olympus Rework Explained
The iconic Olympus map is undergoing major renovations to enhance combat flow and provide safer positioning for players. This transformation includes the addition of four new points of interest. Somers University will replace Orbital Cannon, introducing high-flying lifts to the area, while Gravity Engine will take over Energy Depot, featuring lifts and zip rails for heightened mobility. Stabilizer will succeed Docks, offering floating rocks for unique pathing, and Dockyard will experience a significant overhaul, encouraging vertical gameplay.
Movement Update: Mantle Boost
Season 27: Amped introduces enhancements to the Mantle Boost movement mechanic, which allows players to gain momentum when climbing ledges or walls. A new indicator will simplify the execution of Mantle Boosts, making it more accessible for players. Additional tweaks are coming to the Trident vehicle, including improved collision detection and dedicated vehicle health with visual effects.
Balance: New Hop-Ups and Legend Changes
The season also brings a slew of balance updates, including new weapon Hop-Ups and adjustments to Legend abilities. The Alternator SMG will feature the “Double-Tap” Hop-Up, enabling it to fire from both barrels for increased damage. This event will introduce an upgraded Olympus map, a mythic R-99 that fires missiles, and new speed-boosting Wild Card upgrades. The season’s battle pass presents new Legendary skins for Wattson and Valkyrie, a Spitfire LMG skin, and a reactive Sentinel sniper skin at Tier 60.
