ARC Raiders Sells 2.5 Million Copies in First Week

ARC Raiders Achieves Impressive Sales Milestone in Debut Week

ARC Raiders, the latest third-person extraction shooter from Embark Studios, has taken the gaming world by storm with 2.5 million copies sold across all platforms in its first week, according to reports. This impressive feat has largely been driven by PC gamers, contributing significantly to the game’s success.

Sales Breakdown Across Platforms

Reports suggest that the majority of ARC Raiders sales, about 69%, were generated by PC players on Steam. PlayStation users contributed 17.3% to the sales, while Xbox players accounted for the remaining 13%. The game’s popularity on PC was evident from the start, with ARC Raiders surpassing 200,000 concurrent players on Steam during its launch day and eventually reaching over 260,000.

A Bright Future for ARC Raiders

The launch of ARC Raiders has been a resounding success, generating over $100 million in revenue in just one week, surpassing previous estimates of 1.6 to 1.9 million units sold on Steam. This launch marks a significant milestone for Embark Studios, with ARC Raiders outperforming their other major title, The Finals. The game’s premium release strategy, as opposed to being a free-to-play title, may contribute to its continued success.

However, the journey is just beginning for ARC Raiders. While the initial numbers are promising, the real challenge lies in maintaining a strong player base over time. As of now, ARC Raiders has managed to retain over 90,000 concurrent players on Steam, with only a brief dip below 100,000. If ARC Raiders maintains its player numbers in the coming year, it could solidify its place as a significant player in the gaming industry. Embark Studios is committed to the game’s future, having already published a roadmap detailing updates planned for the remainder of the year.
