Arc Raiders Sets New Record on Steam With Nearly Half a Million Concurrent Players

Arc Raiders is making waves in the gaming community with its impressive performance on Steam. The new extraction shooter by Embark Studio has quickly garnered attention, setting new player records over the weekend.

Record-Breaking Launch

Just 24 hours after its release, Arc Raiders reached a remarkable concurrent player count of 264,673 on Steam, positioning it as one of the leading extraction shooters on the platform. Over the weekend, it shattered its own record, achieving a new peak of 462,488 players as per Valve’s official data.

On November 9, Arc Raiders outperformed Battlefield 6’s peak of 441,035, ranking just behind Counter-Strike 2, Dota 2, and PUBG. Although the game is also available on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X and S, detailed player numbers from these platforms remain undisclosed.

Streamer Support and Player Engagement

As Arc Raiders continues to dominate Steam’s most-played games list, prominent streamer Shroud has urged his followers to vote for it as the 2025 Game of the Year, over contenders like Clair Obscur: Expedition 33. Despite his claim that “multiplayer gamers are the minority,” data shows these games typically maintain high player engagement.

One player’s review highlighted their unexpected obsession: “I planned to play for just a few hours on launch day before writing a review, but after a few matches, I was so engrossed that I ended up playing for 10 hours.” This addictive quality, combined with its clean gunplay and rewarding progression system, makes Arc Raiders a standout in the extraction shooter genre.

The game effectively combines intense gameplay with a compelling loot system, keeping players on edge as they decide what to take or leave behind.
