Assassin’s Creed Shadows has quickly gained favor among both fans and critics, drawing in millions of players within its first two days. Player engagement has reached impressive levels, showing a strong launch in terms of concurrent users.
Despite the early success in terms of player numbers, Ubisoft has yet to reveal official sales data. The company advised that the performance of Shadows should not be directly compared to that of Assassin’s Creed Valhalla. A spokesperson explained that Valhalla launched during the peak of the COVID-19 pandemic—a period when people were largely confined to their homes and had more time to dedicate to gaming. Due to those exceptional circumstances, Valhalla experienced a unique sales spike that isn’t reflective of the current market conditions.
Instead, Ubisoft suggested that a more appropriate comparison would be with other recent entries in the franchise, such as Assassin’s Creed Odyssey, Origins, and the more recent Mirage.
In related gaming news, two popular titles have received significant updates. Monster Hunter Wilds has rolled out its first major patch, while Civilization 7 has introduced a new update aimed at improving quality-of-life features. These enhancements are expected to refine the gameplay experience and address community feedback.
