Excitement builds as ASUS unveils its ROG XREAL R1 AR gaming glasses, marking a groundbreaking step in augmented reality. These innovative glasses deliver a stunning 240Hz Micro-OLED FHD display, creating a massive 171-inch virtual space that promises an immersive gaming experience. With the collaboration of XREAL, ASUS has taken gaming visuals to a new level, offering a fresh twist on the concept of Big Format Gaming Displays (BFGD).
Revolutionary Features of ROG XREAL R1 AR Gaming Glasses
The ROG XREAL R1 AR glasses are a game-changer, leveraging a 240Hz micro-OLED panel with a full HD resolution of 1920×1080. Users will enjoy a 171-inch virtual display at a 4-meter distance, enhanced by a 57-degree expanded field of view. ASUS claims the glasses provide 95% coverage of the focused viewing area, integrating advanced features for an optimal gaming encounter.
Among the standout features is a top-notch sound system powered by Bose technology, providing a dynamic 3D soundstage. The inclusion of electrochromic lens technology allows the glasses to adjust lens transparency automatically based on light conditions. As users shift their gaze from the virtual screen, the lenses become less transparent, and when focusing back, they tint again. For those who prefer, manual control over transparency levels is also available.

Connectivity and Compatibility
The glasses come equipped with a ROG Control Dock, providing versatile connectivity options like DisplayPort 1.4 and HDMI 2.0, enabling seamless switching between PCs and consoles. Additionally, these AR glasses are compatible with ASUS ROG Ally handheld devices, connecting via a USB Type-C cable for a fully immersive handheld gaming experience.
Although ASUS has yet to reveal the pricing, the ROG XREAL R1 AR glasses are set to hit the market in the first half of 2026.
