Atlanta FaZe Claims Victory at Call of Duty League Major 2 2025

Atlanta FaZe, the professional esports organization under the FaZe Clan banner, has emerged as the champion of the 2025 Call of Duty League (CDL) Major 2, held in Allen, Texas.

The tournament was hosted by CDL rival OpTic Texas at the Credit Union of Texas Event Center. Atlanta FaZe delivered a commanding performance, defeating Vancouver Surge in the Grand Final to further solidify its status as the top team in the competitive Call of Duty scene.

Four Days of High-Stakes Competition

The Major 2 tournament featured all 12 CDL franchises competing over a four-day span in a double-elimination bracket format. Teams battled for valuable CDL Points and a portion of the $365,000 (£281,477) prize pool. By claiming first place, Atlanta FaZe earned 100 CDL Points along with a $150,000 (£115,663) cash prize.

Ranked second heading into the event, Atlanta FaZe started strong in the winner’s bracket. The team notched victories over Minnesota Rokkr, New York Cloud9, and Vancouver Surge, securing a direct path to the Grand Final.

Meanwhile, Vancouver Surge took down Carolina Royal Ravens and Boston Breach before meeting Atlanta FaZe in the winner’s final. Following a tight series that extended to the final map, Atlanta FaZe emerged victorious, sending Vancouver to the elimination bracket. Vancouver rebounded with a 3-1 win against Toronto Ultra to earn a rematch in the Grand Final.

Historic Clean Sweep in the Grand Final

Unlike the nail-biting Major 1 finale that went to a deciding round in game seven, Major 2 played out more decisively. Atlanta FaZe defeated Vancouver Surge 4-0 in a dominant showing, becoming the first team in nine years to win three consecutive Major events.

This triumph marks the seventh CDL Major title for Atlanta FaZe. In addition to their victories at Major 1 and 2, the team previously won the 2021 CDL Championship and the 2024 Esports World Cup.

Looking Ahead: CDL Major 3 on the Horizon

With the conclusion of Major 2, the 2025 CDL season reaches its midpoint. All 12 franchises, including Atlanta FaZe, are set to return for a fresh round of online qualifiers as the league shifts focus to Major 3.

The online qualifier phase begins on April 4th, 2025, and wraps up on April 20th, 2025. Unlike the previous two Majors, Major 3 will not be accompanied by a Minor tournament. The online qualifiers will solely determine the seeding for the LAN event, which is set to take place in Boca Raton, California, from April 24th to April 27th.
