Bance Steps Down from Call of Duty Esports
Ben ‘Bance’ Bance, a popular Call of Duty pro who previously played for Toronto Ultra and Minnesota Rokkr, has announced his retirement from the competition. Bance is one of Europe’s most successful Call of Duty players in the past ten years. After his recent exit at the Esports World Cup, he will be a fan’s favourite on the esports circuit.
Widespread Support from the Gaming Community
Bance’s announcement of his retirement from cricket on social media was adored by his fans and fellow cricketers. After leaving Minnesota Rokkr in 2023, he played with a lot of top Challengers teams. He used to play for Team WaR and Noctem Esports and more recently played for Team Orchid which achieved a great top 16 finish in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.
Team Orchid’s Journey and Success
Outside of the Esports World Cup, Team Orchid was considered one of Europe’s top teams in the Challengers circuit. In June, they finished fourth at the Challengers Finals and earned $12,000 with this achievement. They have made a major achievement with this.
Tracing Back Bance’s Glorious Career
Bance entered the world of Call of Duty esports in November 2014 when Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare was released. Bance’s extraordinary talent was first discovered during his tenure with Team Infused and Exertus eSports. Subsequently, he was signed by Splyce in December 2015. Bance affected the global scene of Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 by using Specialists to change the outcome of matches.
In 2016, Splyce became the first European team to reach the finals of a World Championship since 2011, losing to ENVY. Bance separated with Splyce in 2019 and competed for several teams before teaming up with Toronto Ultra as one of the first athletes when Call of Duty esports became franchised.
Bance won the Stage 2 Major with Toronto in 2021. He was one of the few Europeans to win with a European team. So, it was a huge achievement for him. Throughout his illustrious career, Bance has solidified his place as a true legend within European esports, constantly competing in the latter stages of tournaments. With his retirement, the next generation will take his place, but it should be noted that talent never lacked to fill his shoes.
