Battlefield 6 has swiftly addressed players’ concerns with a new update, following complaints about the recent changes to the Support class’s defibrillator tool. The updated version, now available across PC and consoles, aims to restore previous mechanics and address additional gameplay issues.
Reviving the Defibrillator
Reports suggest that players were dissatisfied with the defibrillator changes introduced in the latest California Resistance update, which required a more precise and slower use of the tool, complicating the revival of teammates. This led to confusion and frustration within the gaming community, as many felt the change was either an unexplained bug or an unintentional downgrade.
“At first I thought it was just a pointless range nerf,” one player commented, highlighting the inconsistencies that emerged, making it difficult to successfully revive downed allies. The latest hotfix reverts these changes, enhancing hit-boxes and range to restore the defibrillator’s previous functionality.
Adjustments to Game Modes and Challenges
In addition to addressing the defibrillator issue, the Sabotage game mode has received updates, including an increased AFK kick timer from 60 to 180 seconds. Bot backfilling has been temporarily disabled but will return in a future update. Moreover, Battlefield Studios has fine-tuned various challenges to improve clarity and reduce requirements, making achievements more attainable for players.
Ongoing Developments and Future Content
Battlefield 6, launched on October 10 for PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X | S, is actively evolving with community-driven updates. Season 1 continues to expand with new maps like Eastwood, introduced in the California Resistance mid-season update, and the upcoming Winter Offensive content scheduled for December 9.
BF Studios remains committed to incorporating player feedback, as evidenced by recent updates addressing various issues, from costly skin packs to notorious exploits and visual adjustments to infantry skins. More changes are anticipated, following the outline presented in last week’s community update.
