Battlefield’s Esports History

Battlefield’s transition into esports has been fraught with challenges due to the game’s expansive nature. However, with Battlefield 6 and REDSEC, EA aims to harness the popularity of the battle royale format for its competitive endeavors. Recently, EA collaborated with Jack ‘CouRage’ Dunlop to launch the first REDSEC tournament, which saw victory by Michael ‘Shroud’ Grzesiek and Timothy ‘iiTzTimmy’ An.

Besides launching this battle royale circuit, EA intends to engage with the community, experimenting with formats that could become part of a broader competitive Battlefield 6 multiplayer circuit.
