BIG and Kyuubii Go Their Separate Ways

Berlin International Gaming (BIG) has made headlines with the announcement of a significant change to their Counter-Strike 2 lineup. The organization revealed the departure of Can ‘kyuubii’ Ali, who has been a part of BIG’s main and academy rosters for the past year. This decision comes after a challenging period for the young player, who joined BIG in early 2025 following a stint with Fnatic’s inactive roster.

kyuubii’s Journey with BIG

During his tenure with BIG, kyuubii competed at several high-profile Tier 1 events such as IEM Katowice 2025 and PGL Astana 2025. Despite fierce competition at these events, BIG managed to find considerable success in Tier 2 tournaments, achieving second-place positions at the YaLLa Compass Winter 2025 and the MESA Nomadic Masters Spring 2025. However, in August, kyuubii was moved to the academy roster, where he continued to make his mark in Tier 3 tournaments. Notably, BIG Academy secured a third-place finish at the DACH CS Masters Season 4 and concluded the year strong with a top-four position at United21 Season 41.

“Thank you guys for making me feel like I was home. Unfortunately, things didn’t go the way we wanted to,” kyuubii expressed on X (Twitter). “We wanted to achieve great things together, but not everything clicked within the roster we had, and I am truly sad about that. This chapter ends here and a new one begins.”

BIG’s CS2 Teams at a Glance

As BIG prepares for the upcoming competitive season, the organization is focused on solidifying its lineup to kick off 2026. Currently, BIG’s main CS2 roster holds the 45th spot in the Valve Regional Standings, while the academy team aims to break into the top 250. Outside of these teams, BIG EQUIPA shines as one of the leading women’s CS2 squads globally, capping off 2025 by securing the ESL Impact championship title against MIBR Female.

With kyuubii seeking new opportunities and BIG in search of a successor, the esports community eagerly awaits updates on their roster developments as they gear up for future competitions.
