In the game Blue Prince, players engage in the challenging task of rebuilding their home repeatedly, utilizing a variety of rooms and items. As you progress, one of the most intriguing items you’ll encounter is the Treasure Map. These maps point to specific areas within your home, helping you uncover hidden treasures, valuable items, and even some secrets that will enhance your gameplay experience.
Understanding How Treasure Maps Work
Treasure Maps in Blue Prince display a 5×9 grid, marked with an X in one of the boxes. To uncover treasure, players simply need to reach the location marked by the X, regardless of which direction they approach from. The grid does not dictate a specific path, allowing for flexibility in how you navigate.
To dig for treasure, you must first obtain an item capable of digging, such as a Shovel or a Jackhammer. Once you have the required tool, head to the indicated spot on the map. When you enter the correct room, a prompt will appear on the left side of the screen, signaling that it is time to interact with the map.
Digging for Treasure
Upon interacting with the Treasure Map, you will see a “Dig” icon appear on the floor of the room. Press the dig button to equip your Shovel and start digging. This action will reward you with a small chest, which could contain gold coins, Blue Prince gems, or both. The treasures hidden beneath the surface are a key part of progressing in the game.
As of now, there is no additional significance attached to the X marking on the back of the map, but the treasure hunt itself is rewarding enough for any player looking to increase their in-game wealth.

Special Bonus: Baron Baffler Paper
If you place a bedroom in the location marked with an X on the Treasure Map, you may dig up a paper called the Baron Bafflers. This paper can only be found if the room you place is purple in color. The Baron Bafflers contain word puzzles that are crucial for solving a larger mystery within the game.
To solve these puzzles, players must think of larger words that fit into the provided slots and answer the questions. Additionally, the gray boxes in the puzzle must also create a word that corresponds to the question. Below is a sample of the puzzle clues:

Current Usefulness of the Baron Bafflers
At this stage, the Baron Bafflers puzzles don’t seem to have a direct impact on other parts of the game. The Blue Prince lore suggests that Herbert, a character in the game, created these puzzles in his spare time, though they do not appear to connect to any major quests or objectives. For now, solving the Baron Bafflers may simply provide some additional fun and a deeper dive into the world of Blue Prince.
The Treasure Maps in Blue Prince offer an exciting and rewarding way to explore hidden treasures, unlock valuable items, and even tackle some mysterious puzzles along the way. Whether you’re uncovering treasure chests or solving the Baron Bafflers, these maps are an essential part of the game’s charm and discovery.
