This announcement has generated much anticipation among gamers who are eager to see how Caitlyn’s iconic style translates into the fighting arena.

Caitlyn’s Anticipated Debut in 2XKO

Caitlyn was revealed to be the next champion in 2XKO during The Game Awards 2025 via a thrilling trailer from Riot Games. Her release is scheduled for January 2026, coinciding with the game’s launch on consoles. While the specific release date remains under wraps, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S users can look forward to accessing the game next month. This marks a significant expansion of 2XKO’s roster, bringing the total number of champions to 12. Although gameplay footage for Caitlyn hasn’t been shown yet, fans speculate that her move set will resonate with her MOBA counterpart, highlighting her prowess as a marksman with unique zoning abilities and tactical traps.

Expanding the Champion Roster

Caitlyn will join an already formidable lineup in 2XKO, which features champions like Ahri, Blitzcrank, Braum, Darius, Ekko, Illaoi, Jinx, Vi, Warwick, Yasuo, and Teemo, the most recent addition as of October 7th. Riot Games has laid out plans to introduce five more characters throughout 2026, promising an exciting year ahead for 2XKO enthusiasts.

2XKO’s Competitive Tournaments

Riot Games has shown its commitment to nurturing 2XKO’s competitive scene by backing 22 community-led tournaments, including the renowned DreamHack Atlanta, through its First Impact sponsorship program. The upcoming Christmas Clash tournament, organized by FlyQuest, will feature a $3,000 prize pool and serve as the concluding event for the Road to Frosty Faustings series. This series acts as a gateway to the Frosty Faustings XVIII, set to be a four-day extravaganza starting January 30th, 2026, with a lucrative $50,000 prize pool.
