The Call of Duty League Major 2 2025 has drawn an average of 121,815 viewers, closely matching the numbers recorded during the 2024 edition. This year’s Major, which concluded with Atlanta FaZe taking the championship title, demonstrated a consistent fanbase for the league.
According to data from Esports Charts, the highest viewership peak occurred during a match between tournament hosts OpTic Texas and Minnesota Rokkr, drawing 199,723 viewers.
Grand Final Draws High Numbers Despite Not Topping the Charts
Held at the Credit Union of Texas Event Center in Allen, Texas, the Grand Final between Atlanta FaZe and Vancouver Surge became the second most-watched match of the tournament. It reached a peak of 176,915 viewers.
Despite not winning the tournament, Vancouver Surge led the event in total hours watched, accumulating approximately 1.1 million. In contrast, OpTic Texas, due to their early departure from the competition, did not appear among the top five in total viewership.
Comparison with Previous Majors
When compared to the 2024 edition, Major 2 2025 maintained nearly identical average viewership figures. The 2024 Major 2 reported 121,919 average viewers. However, the peak viewership from last year was significantly higher, reaching 244,478. This reflects a drop of 22.6% in peak viewers for this year’s event.
The viewing patterns also align closely with those observed during Major 1 of the 2025 season. The earlier event averaged 113,205 viewers, with a peak of 233,789 during a match featuring Los Angeles Guerrillas M8 and OpTic Texas. These consistent numbers suggest the league has cultivated a loyal and steady audience.
For comparison, the most-watched Major in CDL history remains the 2023 Stage 3 event. That Grand Final, featuring Atlanta FaZe and OpTic Texas, reached an impressive 335,170 viewers.
Looking Ahead in the CDL 2025 Season
During the course of Major 2 2025, OverActive Media revealed that this year’s CDL Championship Weekend will be held at the Kitchener Memorial Auditorium in Ontario, Canada. This marks the first time the season finale will take place outside of the United States.
Before the Championship Weekend arrives, Major 3 is set to be hosted in Boca Raton, United States, next month. Following that, Major 4 will be featured at DreamHack Dallas in May.
As the league reaches the midpoint of its 2025 season, viewership figures continue to reflect a stable trend. The inclusion of French esports organization Gentle Mates has further energized the community, tapping into the enthusiasm of French fans.
With Atlanta FaZe eyeing a third consecutive Major victory, the latter half of the season is shaping up to be both competitive and compelling.
