Capcom has announced another year of record-breaking financial performance, marking its eighth consecutive year of growth. According to the company’s latest fiscal report, net income reached an all-time high of ¥48.45 billion (approximately $328 million). The strong results were bolstered by impressive game sales, with Capcom moving 51.87 million copies across its catalog.
A significant contributor to this success was Monster Hunter Wilds, which surpassed 10 million sales by the end of the fiscal year on March 31. Capcom credited the strong performance of its flagship franchises for the outstanding numbers, reinforcing the series’ dominance in the action-RPG genre.
Monster Hunter Dominates While Other Franchises Thrive
While Monster Hunter Wilds led the charge, other entries in the series continued to perform well. Monster Hunter: World added 3.1 million sales during the fiscal year, while Monster Hunter: Rise contributed another 2.4 million. Combined, the franchise has now surpassed 100 million lifetime sales—a major milestone for the beloved monster-slaying series.
Capcom’s success wasn’t limited to Monster Hunter. The Resident Evil franchise, including its highly praised remakes, generated over 8 million sales. Meanwhile, Street Fighter pulled in more than 1.3 million players, and Dragon’s Dogma 2—praised by many as a standout RPG—added another million units to Capcom’s total.
What’s Next for Capcom?
Looking ahead, Capcom plans to focus on expanding catalog sales—boosting revenue from previously released titles. Post-launch support for Monster Hunter Wilds is expected to remain a priority, with fans speculating about a potential Master Rank expansion in the future. Additionally, the upcoming Onimusha 2 remaster could further strengthen Capcom’s lineup.
With strong momentum across multiple franchises, Capcom shows no signs of slowing down. Gamers can likely expect more high-quality releases and updates as the company continues to build on its record-breaking success.
