CD Projekt Confirms The Witcher 4’s Absence at The Game Awards, But Reveals One Featured Game

Fans hoping to catch a glimpse of “The Witcher 4” at this year’s Game Awards might be left wanting. Despite the game’s exciting nomination in the Most Anticipated Game category, CD Projekt has confirmed that the eagerly awaited sequel will not make an appearance during the event.

Michał Nowakowski, joint-CEO of CD Projekt, took to social media to express gratitude for the nomination and the votes received, but he stated clearly that no new content for “The Witcher 4” will be featured at The Game Awards. Instead, the company will join in the celebrations from the sidelines.

The Witcher 4: What’s Next?

For those eager for updates, it seems the wait will continue. Following a stunning Unreal Engine 5 tech demo in June, CD Projekt has not disclosed when more details will emerge. Given that the game isn’t expected until 2027 at the earliest, The Game Awards 2026 might be the next opportunity for an official update. The company’s latest financial report indicates that a dedicated team of 447 people is currently focused on its development, highlighting its importance to CD Projekt’s roadmap.

Meanwhile, any developments on the “Cyberpunk 2” front are even further away, as the project is still in its foundational stages with increased hiring underway.

Exodus Takes the Spotlight

While “The Witcher 4” may be absent, “Exodus” is confirmed to make a splash at The Game Awards on December 11. Sources confirm the unveiling of a new trailer for this sci-fi RPG by Archetype Entertainment, a team led by former BioWare luminaries. Published by Wizards of the Coast, “Exodus” is a title that fans should watch out for.
