Harnessing the Power of the Strand

The Strand is a handy piece of equipment you can use to secure your cargos.  It serves as an effective weapon in melee engagements. If players hold L2, they can and will parry incoming attacks with the Strand. The game slows down for a moment at this point, and players can counter by pressing R2. This will leave the enemy dazed and open to a kill shot.

The Strand fails to work against enemies that use firearms but does work effectively against melee foes. An armed foe can quickly be knocked out by sneaking up on them. From the beginning of the game to the end, the Strand is always available aside from boss fights.

Navigating Enemy Outposts

As you advance, you will encounter many enemy outposts filled with enemies. Although you can go off-route, it may sometimes be quicker to just attack. the higher the time of day the lesser will be the number of enemies out there. as day becomes and night patrols become less.  Taking out all the enemies in the outpost will lower the threat level of the outpost, whereas ignoring it will increase the threat level of the outpost. This increases the challenge, however also means that the gear drops from that area will be much better. So it could be worthwhile to leave it for later.

Revival Tactics of Enemies

Stealth approaches need to be aware of enemies’ locations because they can pick up their friends, and you’ll be noticed again. Always scout ahead, tag enemies to prevent any surprises.  Marking enemies is easier with vantage points or using your Dollman from above.

Preparation Against BTs

Facing the spooky BTs requires the right tools. Not all weapons have effects on these creatures. This means that you must check the weapons lying in the facilities and their stats before leaving. With more facilities you can improve your star ranking that will give you access to better, more versatile weapons which can deal with human and BT threats.

Strategically Using Blood Grenades

Blood Grenades interestingly add more strategy against the BTs. Although the hematic rounds from the first game aren’t available, players can fire their standard bullets through the blood fog created by a thrown grenade to give them hematic properties. This strategy increases battlefield adaptability if resources are few.

Vehicles as Weapons

A car is an easy way to kill an enemy. You can run over enemies or use a Tri-Cruiser. After an attack, simply remove firearms from the inventory without leaving the vehicle. The technique a fast and efficient way to remove outposts without the happening of too much killing as the vehicles do mostly incapacitating.

Activating Lethal Ammunition

For those who prefer to play aggressive, Chapter 7 features a code for deadly rounds from the character called The Pizza Chef.  Firing deadly and non-lethal ammo through the weapon wheel and pressing the right button accordingly enables players to do the same. But you’ll have to do something with the body, and that may affect the delivery grades.

Enhancing Melee Attacks

Sam’s general punches may not be as strong, but having cargo increases their melee potential. If you’re holding cargo, swinging or throwing it with the Circle button does a lot of damage to enemies.  Nevertheless, don’t make use of any cargo that is meant for the delivery as it would get damaged in a fight.
