Complete Oblivion Console Commands Guide

Bethesda’s signature console command system makes a return in The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion and its 2025 remastered edition. By pressing the Tilde key (~) located beneath the Escape key, players can access a powerful command interface that enables everything from minor gameplay adjustments to game-altering enhancements. While most commands work across both versions, several have been modified or removed in the remaster.

Achievement Hunters Beware

Before experimenting with these powerful tools, remastered edition players should note that using any console command will permanently disable achievements for that character’s save file. A broken trophy icon will appear on the save selection screen as a permanent reminder of this modification.

Accessing the Console Command Interface

Getting started with console commands is straightforward:

  1. Press the Tilde (~) key during gameplay to open the command interface
  2. Type your desired command exactly as shown below
  3. Press Enter to execute the command
  4. Close the console by pressing Tilde again

Command Usage Tips

For commands requiring target selection, first open the console, then click on the desired object, NPC, or item before entering the command.

Remember that extensive console usage can potentially impact game stability. Save frequently when experimenting with these powerful tools.
