CXMT has taken a significant step forward by launching its inaugural DDR5 and LPDDR5X memory products, offering advanced speeds and a diverse range of options tailored for both server and consumer PC markets in China.
Breakthrough Unveiling at the Semiconductor Expo
In a notable announcement at the 2025 China International Semiconductor Expo, CXMT showcased its cutting-edge DRAM products, including DDR5 and LPDDR5X memory. This marks the culmination of efforts that began last year, as reports suggested CXMT’s commitment to developing competitive DDR5 memory technology. The company’s strategic move positions it against industry giants like Samsung, SK hynix, and Micron.

The new DDR5 memory by CXMT offers densities of 16 Gb and 24 Gb, achieving speeds up to 8000 MT/s, and spans a complete range of product formats like UDIMM, SODIMM, RDIMM, CSODIMM, CUDIMM, and TFF MRDIMM. These products are crafted to meet the needs of various market segments, including data centers, desktop PCs, and laptops. Partnering with ASGARD, a memory module manufacturer, CXMT’s DDR5 ICs power gaming kits designed for higher OC speeds, with ASGARD being among the first to introduce CUDIMM DDR5 to the market.
Innovative LPDDR5X Memory Solutions
Beyond DDR5, CXMT launched its LPDDR5X products, featuring 12 Gb and 16 Gb densities, capable of operating at up to 10,667 MT/s. These densities allow for capacities ranging from 12 GB to 32 GB, targeting laptops and embedded platforms, with applications extending into AI markets.

The introduction of CXMT’s DDR5 comes at a crucial time when the global DRAM market is under pressure due to high demand from the AI sector, causing significant price increases. With its domestic production capabilities, China aims to mitigate reliance on international suppliers and stabilize its supply chain for local consumers.
