With 20 million players captivated by the second installment, the confirmation of Dead Island 3’s development has fans eagerly anticipating a new chapter of zombie-slaying adventures.

Unveiling the Future: Dead Island 3 Details

Hot on the heels of Dead Island 2’s achievements, reports suggest that Dambuster Studios is aiming for a Q1 or Q2 2028 release for Dead Island 3. This ambitious project has all of Dambuster’s developers focused and ready, with early production already underway. The studio’s financial disclosures reveal a workforce of 194 employees, with a staggering 93% dedicated to development efforts. Once the Luna and Mac versions of Dead Island 2 wrap up, the entire QA team will join the relentless march toward the Dead Island 3 launch.

A Journey Through Development Hell

Dead Island 2’s path to players’ consoles was anything but straightforward. Initially developed by Yager, the game faced a significant detour when Deep Silver, unsatisfied with the direction, handed over the reins to Sumo Digital in March 2016. Yet, three and a half years later, the project changed hands again, finally landing at Dambuster Studios. Despite these challenges, Dambuster crafted an experience that left fans clamoring for more, prompting the decision to forge ahead with Dead Island 3.

As fans look forward to 2028, Dead Island 3 promises to deliver another unforgettable chapter in the beloved franchise.
