In a surprising move, DRX has revamped its League of Legends Champions Korea (LCK) lineup, parting ways with several players and coaches as the team gears up for the 2026 season. These changes come after the team’s continued struggle to secure a spot in the League of Legends World Championship, missing out for three consecutive years despite its historic victory in 2022.
Significant Roster Changes
DRX has released Bae ‘Sponge’ Young-jun and Park ‘Teddy’ Jin-seong, making way for new faces. The Korean organization is bringing in Jung ‘Jiwoo’ Ji-woo and Ha ‘Vincenzo’ Seung-min to fill the void. Additionally, the coaching staff is seeing changes, with Head Coach Kim ‘SSONG’ Sang-soo and Coach Noh ‘Alive’ Jin-wook also departing. DRX has not only altered its main roster but also its Challengers lineup, parting ways with Kang ‘Kyeahoo’ Yea-hoo, Son ‘Pleata’ Min-woo, and Lee ‘Juhan’ Ju-han. While Kyeahoo is reportedly joining a new team, the others are exploring free agency.
In an official announcement, DRX expressed gratitude to the outgoing members and wished them success in their future endeavors.
DRX Signs Jiwoo and Vincenzo
The team is poised for a fresh start with Bot Laner Jiwoo, who joins from Nongshim RedForce, and Jungler Vincenzo, a former T1 Esports Academy member. This marks Jiwoo’s first experience with another LCK team, while Vincenzo brings a wealth of experience from various academy teams. Adding stability to the roster, support player Moon ‘Andil’ Gwan-bin has renewed his contract through 2026.
So far, the confirmed lineup for DRX’s 2026 LCK season is shaping up as follows:
- Lee ‘Rich’ Jae-won – Top Laner
- Son ‘ucal’ Woo-hyeon – Mid Laner
- Andil – Support
- Vincenzo – Bot Laner
- Jiwoo – Jungler
With these significant changes, DRX is expected to debut its new roster at the 2025 LoL KeSPA Cup, set to occur from December 6th to 14th.
