Riot Games has made the decision to remove French esports organisation DVM from the VALORANT Challengers France circuit with immediate and indefinite effect. The removal was publicly announced through the league’s official communication channels on April 15, 2025, following a violent altercation involving fans during a recent match.
Incident During DVM vs Joblife Match
The turning point came during a match held on April 8th between DVM and fellow French team Joblife. According to reports from Ensigame, tensions escalated when supporters of DVM began provoking Joblife fans verbally. These exchanges quickly intensified and developed into a physical confrontation. Law enforcement was called to intervene and subsequently removed the involved DVM supporters from the venue.
The match was immediately cancelled, and by the following day, event organiser Webedia had disqualified DVM from the remainder of Stage 2 in the 2025 VALORANT Challengers France: Revolution.

League Organiser Cites Ongoing Concerns
The indefinite expulsion marks a significant escalation. Riot’s official statement outlined that the removal from the league was the result of multiple issues surrounding the team’s professionalism and conduct. The tournament organiser explained that this course of action follows a series of incidents and an overall failure by DVM to uphold the behavioural standards required of both teams and their fans.
According to the league’s statement, the primary objective remains to nurture an environment centred on fair competition, mutual respect, and professional behaviour at all levels. The organisers also criticised DVM for inadequate communication in the aftermath of the incident, stating that despite repeated attempts to engage constructively, the organisation continued to act in ways that were inconsistent with the league’s expectations.
DVM Yet to Respond Officially
As of now, the organisation has not issued a formal response to its permanent exclusion from the VALORANT Challengers France league. However, one of the founders, known as ‘DVMEDJA’, previously addressed the situation on his personal account on X (formerly Twitter).
In a post dated April 10th, he distanced the organisation from the violent behaviour exhibited during the match, stating that DVM had no direct involvement in the incident. He condemned all forms of unprofessional conduct and maintained that DVM was built on positive intentions and values.
Commenting on the initial disqualification from Stage 2, he expressed discontent, suggesting that the decision was made hastily and under pressure from public reaction: he believed the organisers acted without properly hearing DVM’s side. He added that he intended to reach out to league officials to reopen discussions and seek a constructive path forward. Additionally, he apologised to those affected by the situation, stating that none of the actions that unfolded were intentional.
Future of the Players
While the decision to exclude DVM as an organisation was clear-cut, concern has been voiced regarding the impact on the players themselves. Esports commentator Jessica Bolden reflected the views of many when she pointed out the difficulty of punishing a team without harming individual careers.
In response, Riot clarified that the players are not banned from competing. They are allowed to remain within the Challengers France circuit, provided they join either a new organisation or an independent team not affiliated with DVM. This approach aims to ensure that athletes who were not involved in the incident can continue their professional journeys uninterrupted.
The removal of DVM from VALORANT Challengers France sends a strong message about the league’s commitment to maintaining integrity and safety within its ecosystem.
