Electronic Arts and Lucasfilm Games have officially introduced Star Wars Zero Company, a new single-player turn-based tactical title. This announcement follows a recent leak that hinted at its development. The project is being led by Bit Reactor, with creative support from Respawn, the studio known for Titanfall and Jedi: Survivor.
On April 14, EA confirmed the title’s name, linking it to a previously announced tactical Star Wars project. While details are still limited, the company revealed that a full showcase is scheduled for April 19 during a panel at Star Wars Celebration.

Leaks Reveal XCOM-Like Gameplay Mechanics
Earlier this month, images of Zero Company appeared online through an artist’s portfolio from Bit Reactor. The screenshots—believed to be from an early build—displayed cover-based tactics, overwatch features, and a “hit chance” indicator above enemy targets. These elements strongly suggest gameplay similar to the XCOM series.
According to available information, the game was internally referred to as Star Wars Bruno during development. The studio behind the project, Bit Reactor, was founded by a former XCOM developer, accompanied by a team composed largely of ex-Firaxis staff members who had previously worked on the franchise.
Given the prevalence of third- and first-person action titles in recent Star Wars releases, this pivot toward turn-based strategy marks a notable shift in direction. It reflects the flexibility of the Star Wars universe, which can support a broad range of gameplay genres beyond traditional shooters and adventures.
What’s Next for Zero Company
Star Wars Zero Company does not yet have a confirmed release date, nor have platforms been specified. However, more details and the first look at gameplay are expected to be unveiled on April 19 during the Star Wars Celebration event, which takes place this year in Japan.
The upcoming reveal is anticipated to provide a deeper glimpse into the tactical gameplay and story behind Zero Company, as fans look forward to a fresh take on Star Wars in video game form.
