Elden Ring: Nightreign Update 1.03.1 Brings Major Balance Tweaks and Fresh Content to Forsaken Hollows DLC

The latest update from FromSoftware is taking Elden Ring: Nightreign to new heights. The newly deployed patch delivers an enriched experience with more Deep of the Night content available for The Forsaken Hollows DLC, alongside various new features, balance adjustments, bug fixes, and more. This update is geared to enhance the gameplay for the impressive 2 million players who have already dived into the DLC.

Experience new adventures in the ultra-hard Deep of Night mode with new targets, landmarks, raid events, and Shifting Earth. The much-anticipated Patch 1.03.1 also refines pre-order bonuses, such as artwork and soundtracks, and addresses the security vulnerability announced by Unity Technologies on October 3. Despite these extensive changes, the developers assure that the main game remains unaffected by the security issues. Players must apply this update to engage in online play, as accessing the game without it will not be possible.

New Exciting Content

For those who own The Forsaken Hollows DLC, the Deep of Night mode now offers new targets, landmarks, and raid events, along with the mesmerizing Shifting Earth. However, these new features will only be available when playing with others who also own the DLC.

Enhancements and Adjustments

  • The curse effects related to Fire, Magic, Lightning, or Holy have been amplified in the Great Hollow Shifting Earth temples.
  • Revisions have been made to the continuous HP loss and recovery curse effects in these temples.
  • The attack power of summoned wolves during the Tricephalos raid event has been decreased.
  • A stack count display has been added for damage negation reduction icons when using level 3 Dart-type items.
  • The Scholar’s Ultimate Art Communion is now stable during transformations with Executor’s Ultimate Art Aspects of the Crucible: Beast.
  • A new near-death animation has been introduced for reviving with the Power to Balance the World special effect.
  • Identical consumables in the Equipment Menu now combine according to their stack limit.
  • Active effects for some special effects are now clearly indicated in the status menu.
  • Item rarity colors display when pinning items in the You indicated equipment message.
  • When engulfed in the Night’s Tide, characters will display burning feet in the Great Hollow Shifting Earth.
  • The range of clues available through the map in the Great Hollow Shifting Earth has been expanded.
  • The Night Aspect fight now includes additional attack types if all Nightfarers own The Forsaken Hollows DLC.
  • The Map Display key is now customizable in the system menu settings.

Bug Fixes and Performance Improvements

  • Issues in the Sentient Pest fight, Scholar’s Skill Communion, and various other aspects of gameplay have been resolved.
  • Multiple bugs related to Scholar’s abilities and interactions have been fixed to enhance the gameplay experience.
  • Enhancements have been made to ground-based attack detections, various combat elements, and menu displays.
  • Significant performance improvements and minor issues have been addressed across multiple areas.
  • Steam-specific adjustments include an updated list of prohibited words.

The updated version numbers appearing at the lower right corner of the Title Screen are App Ver. 1.03.1 and Regulation Ver. 1.03.2. On PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X|S, Regulation files update automatically upon logging into the server. Ensure your game displays the latest Regulation Ver. 1.03.2 in the title screen’s lower right corner for the best experience.
