The Esports Integrity Commission (ESIC) has rolled out an innovative initiative aimed at bolstering the standards of representation in the esports, gaming, and entertainment sectors. This new initiative, known as the Certified Talent Agents Program, seeks to acknowledge and certify organizations that advocate for talent within these dynamic industries.
Groundbreaking Talent Agents Program
ESIC has welcomed SEG Esports and Prodigy Agency as the inaugural members of this groundbreaking program. Reports suggest that the framework was crafted with the input of over 15 global agencies to tackle existing challenges in the field. This certification process includes comprehensive evaluations such as financial due diligence and background checks, ensuring agents commit to a stringent code of conduct to safeguard their clients and uphold integrity.
The Certified Talent Agents Program represents a significant step forward for the esports industry, as it sets a much-needed standard for agents and agencies representing esports players. Stephen Hanna, CEO of ESIC, highlighted that the program provides a clear and credible pathway for talent agents, addressing an area that has often been problematic and under-regulated.
ESIC’s Expanding Influence in 2025
In 2025, ESIC has been actively implementing measures to strengthen integrity across the esports industry. Earlier in January, the organization collaborated with the World Intellectual Property Organisation to establish the International Games and Esports Tribunal, offering dispute resolution services to stakeholders.
October saw ESIC issuing interim suspensions to Counter-Strike 2 teams SENZA and Northern Lights for alleged violations of the anti-corruption and conduct codes. Moreover, ESIC has been expanding its Anti-Corruption network, with BETBY and Thunderpick joining as the latest members to aid in identifying and investigating suspicious betting activities.
