The tech world is buzzing with anticipation as AMD prepares to unveil new additions to its Ryzen lineup at CES 2026. This event promises to showcase innovative advancements in processor technology with the launch of both X3D and Zen 5 APUs. Fans and tech enthusiasts alike are eager to see how these new products will reshape the computing landscape.
New Ryzen 9000X3D and Zen 5 APUs Set for CES Debut
Reports suggest AMD will introduce two new Ryzen 9000X3D processors, the Ryzen 9 9950X3D2 and Ryzen 7 9850X3D, which come with enhanced specifications. These models are anticipated to deliver different configurations compared to their predecessors, the Ryzen 9 9950X3D and Ryzen 7 9800X3D. Additionally, the Zen 5-based Ryzen 9000G APUs, including Krackan Point and Strix Point, are expected to make their debut for the AM5 platform during the event. AMD will launch both the new Ryzen 9000X3D CPUs and Ryzen 9000G APUs at CES 2026, which will take place in the first half of January. This follows the announcement of the Ryzen 9 9950X3D and Strix Halo at a previous CES.

Innovative Features and Enhanced Performance
The upcoming Ryzen processors are set to introduce dual 3D Cache-equipped CCDs, marking a first for Ryzen CPUs. The Zen 5 architecture will power the fastest desktop-grade APUs, featuring RDNA 3.5-based integrated graphics. The Ryzen 7 9850X3D will maintain a single 3D V-Cache-equipped CCD but will see a clock speed increase of 400 MHz over the 9800X3D. Meanwhile, the Ryzen 9 9950X3D will boast a total of 192 MB cache, offering a higher L3 cache than its predecessor, although with a slightly reduced boost clock.
While integrated graphics specs and memory support remain consistent, the new APUs for the AM5 platform, anticipated under the Ryzen 9000G naming convention, are expected to deliver significant performance improvements. The inclusion of Strix Point APUs promises up to 12 cores and 24 threads, alongside Radeon 890M-equivalent integrated graphics.
