Explore Madness in Oblivion Remastered With the Shivering Isles Expansion

After shutting every Oblivion gate and experiencing tons of dungeons, this is an interesting and captivating expansion that loves to take you to places you don’t usually get to visit. You won’t find anything like The Shivering Isles in The Elder Scrolls universe.

If you’ve played the original Oblivion or haven’t played it before, you would have heard of the strange things one can encounter in the Shivering Isles. The latest expansion is the largest ever in an extensive open-world RPG. As such, it transports one into a land of sheer insanity, ruled by the whims of the Daedric Prince Sheogorath Mad. The beauty of the landscape captivates players, but the underlying wrongness also disturbs them. The divide in this DLC makes it among the best of the series, meaning no matter how many hours you’ve spent with the main game and the well trodden land of Cyrodiil, it is worth your time.

First Level – Path To The Sheogorath’s Realm

There are different ways to enter the Shivering Isles DLC in Oblivión Remastered. Players hands-on will be able to find this most likely through the normal travelling in-game. Other players might hear fragments of rumours about it being spread around the major cities you can find.  Nevertheless, if you are one of those types that dash about your current objectives without taking much time to gossip with the locals, you’re likely to meet the Strange Door in Niben Bay while travelling.

The easiest way to find the Strange Door is to fast-travel to the northern gate of Bravil and head east to the lake. The island containing the mysterious portal is finally clear from the shore across the water.

Prepping You You to Build Your Character

It’s important to spend a fair amount of time developing your characters before going insane! Even if you’re level 80, the opponents you face after entering Sheogorath’s realm are not very strong, but the game makes them powerful. It’s recommended that players finish the main quest or reach about level 20 before starting this expansion.

Players who want a challenge can complete the game’s introduction and head south right away instead of waiting.

Crossing the Threshold: Meeting Sheogorath

As you reach the Strange Door, you will find a guard posted outside and a crazy civilian who just came out from it. After taking care of that incident, head to the entrance and interact with it. In this moment, Sheogorath’s voice taunts you, making the improbable suggestion that you are a champion. After a few moments of banging on the door will persuade the Daedric Prince to let you in.

When you go in, you will find Haskill of Sheogorath’s servants sitting across from you. He doesn’t specify how this affects anything; in other words, it’s your choice. You can either choose to be Sheogorath’s champion and go deeper into madness or leave before your mind and body are lost to this realm.

It’s up to you. But for those people after one of gaming’s wildest adventures, you’ll be doing things you never thought possible in the Elder Scrolls universe.
