Fallout 4 Mod Unleashes AMD FSR 3 Frame Boost, Doubling FPS in CPU-Heavy Moments

A new mod has emerged for Fallout 4 fans, bringing enhanced visuals and smoother gameplay to the iconic game. This Frame Generation mod, freshly released on Nexus Mods, is the creation of doodlum, a known figure in the modding community. Unlike previous mods by PureDark that required a Patreon subscription, this latest offering is available to all free of charge.

Revolutionizing Fallout 4 Graphics

The mod is driven by AMD FidelityFX Super Resolution 3 technology, leveraging the publicly available AMD FidelityFX SDK GPUOpen API. It uses a custom DirectX 12 swap chain proxy, ensuring compatibility with any DirectX 12-capable graphics card. The mod promises to enhance performance, particularly in demanding environments such as cityscapes, and pairs well with other mods like Sim Settlements 2.

How to Get the Most Out of the Mod

By default, the mod activates on monitors with refresh rates of at least 120Hz, though users can adjust settings in the .ini file to force its activation. It requires the Address Library for F4SE Plugins and the High FPS Physics Fix. Additionally, Fallout 4 should be set to Borderless or Windowed mode. It supports ENB and works alongside PureDark’s free upscaler mod but is incompatible with the VR version of Fallout 4 due to its reliance on spacewarp technology.

Looking Ahead: Fallout 4 and Beyond

As Fallout 4 celebrates its tenth anniversary with a new Anniversary Edition, the modding community remains active and innovative. Recent reports also hint that remastered versions of Fallout 3 and Fallout: New Vegas may be on the horizon, fueling excitement among fans of the series.

This Frame Generation mod, available free of charge, is a significant step forward for enhancing Fallout 4’s graphics and performance.
