Bethesda Game Studios has unleashed a significant update for Fallout 76, titled the Burning Springs update. This new patch elevates the game to version 1.7.22.12 and is available on all platforms with varying download sizes: approximately 28.8 GB on Steam, 39.3 GB on Microsoft Store, 41.9 GB on Xbox, and 40.8 GB on PlayStation.
Explore the Expansive Ohio Region
This free expansion brings players to a previously unexplored area west of Point Pleasant, Ohio, incorporating the Ghoul character from the acclaimed Amazon Prime Video series as a recurring figure. Players can expect a bounty-hunting system, fresh public events, and a host of new creatures. Developers highlight that this is one of the largest map expansions since the game’s 2018 release, opening new wildlife and fishing opportunities, including creatures like the Radhog for adoption as a C.A.M.P. pet.
Questlines and New Content
Players at level 30 and above can embark on a new story by tuning into the Ohio Distress Signal. This quest centers around Highway Town and its saloon, Last Resort, bringing focus to the formidable Rust King. Two new public events, Gearin’ Up and Sinkhole Solutions, are introduced, both revolving around the new enemies and environmental challenges. The update also refines weapon balance, legendary mods, and loosens C.A.M.P. budget constraints.
Bounty Hunting: A Fresh Adventure
The debut of the Bounty Hunting feature is a major highlight, allowing players to tackle Grunt Hunt and Head Hunt contracts for exciting rewards. Grunt Hunts target Legendary enemies, while Head Hunts offer unique cosmetics and items. This feature is designed as a key progression element, urging players to engage repeatedly for gear hunting. The Ghoul, a beloved character, serves as the quest giver, voiced by Walton Goggins, as players aid in managing the bounty contracts. The update coincides with the upcoming second season of the Prime Video series, releasing on December 17.
Additionally, the Milepost Zero area in Skyline Valley is winding down, with its rewards now distributed across the Wasteland. Developers indicate that Bounty Hunting provides a more streamlined and rewarding experience. Season 23, Blood x Rust, also launches with the update, featuring a raider-themed scoreboard and various cosmetics inspired by the Burning Springs content.
