Far Cry TV Series in Development by Rob Mac and Noah Hawley

Fans of Far Cry can look forward to a thrilling new addition to its universe as the game series is set to become a television series on FX and Hulu. With the creative minds of Alien Earth’s Noah Hawley and the comedic talent of Rob Mac from It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia, this series promises to capture the wild spirit of the games.

“What I love about the Far Cry game franchise is it’s an anthology. Each game is a variation of a theme, the same way each season of Fargo is a variation on a theme,” said Hawley.

“To create a big action show that can change from year to year, while always exploring the nature of humanity through this complex and chaotic lens is a dream come true. I’m excited to partner with Rob and bring our shared irreverent, ambitious sensibility to the screen.”

Dynamic Storytelling with New Settings

Each season of the show is planned to embrace a new setting, with Mac taking the lead role. While specifics about the release date or storyline are still confidential, the Far Cry games have spanned diverse locations like Montana, USA, and the Himalayas, featuring themes of cults, vicious dictators, and pirates. There’s a vast playground of narratives to explore.

“Getting to work alongside Noah Hawley is a dream realized,” added Mac, who also worked with Ubisoft on Apple’s Mythic Quest, where he played a game developer.

Collaborative Vision and Support

“Ubisoft has been remarkably generous, entrusting us with one of the most iconic video-game worlds ever created. And through it all, my FX family continues to lift me up with their constant belief and support.”
