December 13th marked a landmark moment in Tetris history as Fehmi Atalar from Turkey emerged victorious at the 2025 Red Bull Tetris World Final in Dubai. This event, held at the iconic Dubai Frame, brought together over 60 National Finalists from around the globe. Atalar and Peru’s Leo Solórzano rose to the top, advancing to an intense Grand Final.
Atalar’s Flawless Run at Red Bull Tetris Dubai
Atalar secured his spot in Dubai by winning the 16-player National Final in Turkey, which granted him a direct entry to the Round of 32 in the Semi-finals. Dominating the competition, he won every best-of-three series without losing a single match. He said of his journey: “I just dominated all of them without giving a single point, which is a crazy run, I must say. And in the end, I just feel very happy about it.”
In the Grand Final, each player had five minutes on a 150-meter-high screen, formed by 1,400 drones. This unique setup eliminated any power-ups or multipliers, pushing both players to rely solely on their skills. Solórzano led with 57,164 points after his turn, but Atalar’s tactical planning and quick reflexes allowed him to surpass Solórzano with time to spare, despite a rocky start.

An Unforgettable Tetris Tournament
Atalar’s performance was nothing short of extraordinary, culminating in a final score of 168,566. This achievement not only earned him the trophy but also an all-inclusive three-day trip to Dubai. The tournament itself was a groundbreaking event, featuring a live game on drones for the first time and showcasing the world’s top Tetris talents.

This tournament has set a new standard in esports, combining innovative technology with the age-old excitement of Tetris.
