Final 2025 Update for Assassin’s Creed Shadows Drops Tomorrow With New Finishers and Animus Quest

Exciting news for Assassin’s Creed fans! Ubisoft is set to roll out the final update of the year for Assassin’s Creed Shadows, just in time for its release on the Nintendo Switch 2. Players can look forward to some thrilling additions and improvements.

This update, known as Title Update 1.1.7, introduces some intense new combat finishers for characters Naoe and Yasuke, making battles more exhilarating than ever. Players who enjoy the quirky Animus content will be thrilled to explore a new Rift, with the enigmatic Guide returning for more adventures. Furthermore, a fresh project akin to a battle pass is available, allowing the unlocking of a new bo staff and a stylish outfit for Naoe.

Among the handy updates, players can now access Vault content, such as modern-day story text logs, directly without needing to exit the game. Additionally, Animus keys can be exchanged for Gold, Mastery, and Knowledge Points for those looking to boost their resources.

The update also comes with a comprehensive list of bug fixes and enhancements, including launch day updates for the Nintendo Switch 2 version, releasing on Wednesday, December 17.

  • Improved various FPS issues.
  • Fixed crashes for stability improvements.

  • Fixed an infinite black screen issue after account login for Ubisoft Connect.

Gameplay

  • Removed an exploit allowing double engravings on the Sword of Fathoms.
  • Fixed an issue preventing Naginatas from being sold.
  • Resolved issue with Mastery points not updating when equipped items changed.
  • Fixed damage upgrade issues when upgrading skills to Rank 3.
  • The Bo Staff’s affliction buildup stat now increases with upgrades.
  • Perks with affliction effects now specify which affliction they apply.
  • Fixed issue removing Knowledge Scrolls from inventory.
  • Shared skills between Naoe and Yasuke are now correctly learned.
  • Clarified wording for “Affliction After Deflect” perk.
  • “Restore 6% Health With Posture Attack” now present for all appropriate weapons.

Claws of Awaji

  • Fixed fast travel issues when switching between game editions with and without the Claws of Awaji Expansion.

World

  • Players can now whistle while using the Follow Road mechanic.
  • Corrupted Castles no longer reset when loading saves after season changes.
  • Fixed respawning issues of enemies and loot when loading saves before season changes.

  • Adjusted unnatural facial animations during cinematics with hoods equipped.

  • Fixed inconsistencies with smuggled rewards UI at season end.
  • Corrected Japanese location names.

  • Fixed issues with receiving Store, Deluxe, and Premium items.

PC Specific

  • Fixed input issues for Mouse and Keyboard rebinding.
  • Improved FPS stability on PC.
