Five Nights at Freddy’s 2 Trailer Intensifies the Animatronic Nightmare

The upcoming sequel from Blumhouse is set to premiere exclusively in theaters on December 5, 2025.

During a presentation at CinemaCon hosted by Blumhouse and Universal, the first official trailer for Five Nights at Freddy’s 2 was revealed. Shortly after its initial screening at the event, the trailer was made available to the public online.

Producer Jason Blum emphasized during the showcase that, unlike the first installment, the sequel will not have a simultaneous streaming release. Instead, it will debut only in theaters starting December 5.

A Darker, More Ruthless Tone

The film’s chilling tagline promises a more intense experience: anyone might last five nights, but this time, second chances are off the table.

Drawing inspiration from the immensely popular game franchise created by Scott Cawthon, the original Five Nights at Freddy’s became Blumhouse’s top-grossing theatrical release in 2023. It also claimed the title of the year’s most successful horror film.

Emma Tammi, who directed the first movie, returns to lead the sequel. Scott Cawthon remains involved as a producer. Cast members Josh Hutcherson, Elizabeth Lail, Piper Rubio, and Matthew Lillard all come back to reprise their roles, continuing the eerie saga of Freddy Fazbear’s haunted legacy.
