Fnatic Unveils New Era: R6 Team Disbanded for Bold Overhaul

Fnatic recently made a significant announcement regarding its future in Rainbow Six Siege X. The renowned UK esports organization has decided to part ways with its current roster after evaluating its performance in Year 10 of the competition. This decision marks a pivotal moment as Fnatic plans to take a step back and reassess its strategy for the game.

Transition and Roster Changes

Fnatic will be releasing its players, including Samuel ‘Wizard’ Morgan, Leonardo ‘Sarks’ Sarchi, Jesse ‘Jeggz’ Ojanen, Tom ‘Deapek’ Pieksma, and Antonio ‘CroqSon’ Vázquez. The organization expressed its intent to “take some time” to reset and explore its next steps within Rainbow Six Siege X. This change means that these players will no longer represent Fnatic. Subsequently, many of the departing players have already started seeking opportunities with new teams. Head coach Tristan ‘Saethus’ Savage emphasized his commitment to ensuring the players secure a prosperous future.

Challenges in Year 10

The London-based team, despite being part of the R6 Share programme, faced a challenging Year 10. Fnatic registered disappointing performances in the Europe MENA League, leading to an early exit in Stage 1 and a bottom-four finish in Stage 2. Consequently, the team missed qualifications for the Esports World Cup Rainbow Six Siege X tournament and the BLAST R6 Munich Major.

Fnatic also had the opportunity to compete at the RE:L0:AD tournament in Rio De Janeiro. However, their journey in competitive Siege X hit another roadblock as they failed to qualify for the Six Invitational in Paris, France. Finishing eighth and fifth in the MENA Qualifiers, Fnatic did not secure a spot in the regional Last Chance Qualifiers, ending their aspirations for the world championship event.
