Long-Standing Performance Issues Addressed

Players have frequently voiced their concerns about the original Switch version of Fortnite, citing multiple performance-related drawbacks. These include heavily reduced graphical fidelity compared to other platforms, disruptive glitches, and various technical limitations that have made the game less enjoyable on Nintendo’s first Switch console.

Though Epic Games has previously rolled out updates to optimize the game, many in the community remained unsatisfied with the results. The introduction of the Switch 2, however, appears to be a turning point.

Technical Expectations for the Switch 2 Upgrade

The Switch 2 is reportedly equipped to support up to 120 frames per second and 4K resolution when docked, promising a considerable leap in graphical and processing power. These upgrades are not just good news for Fortnite but also for other demanding titles such as Elden Ring: Tarnished Edition, Final Fantasy VII: Remake, and Cyberpunk 2077 – all of which are expected to perform better on the new hardware.

According to footage from the newly released showcase, Fortnite already appears to run more smoothly, even during its brief on-screen appearance. Enthusiastic players wasted no time reacting, taking to social media to express their excitement and share their hopes for a greatly improved gaming experience on the Switch 2.
