FromSoftware Confirms Elden Ring Nightreign DLC by March 2026 Amid Negative Steam Reviews

Exciting news for fans of Elden Ring: Nightreign is on the horizon as Kadokawa, the parent company of the game developer FromSoftware, has officially announced upcoming DLC set to release by the end of March 2026. Despite this, many players have voiced their dissatisfaction through negative reviews on Steam, frustrated by the silence and lack of updates.

Upcoming DLC and Future Titles

According to a recent financial report from Kadokawa, the company is targeting further sales growth for Elden Ring: Nightreign, the original Elden Ring, and their downloadable content. They confirmed that several game titles are currently in development, including Elden Ring Nightreign DLC, slated for a fiscal year 2025 release, Elden Ring Tarnished Edition for Nintendo Switch 2 in 2026, and The Duskbloods, also expected in 2026.

For clarity, fiscal year 2025 for Kadokawa concludes on March 31, 2026. While the report highlighted the game’s success beyond initial expectations, it also acknowledged the negative shift in user reviews due to the lack of new information. The DLC, listed as “available by Q4 2025” on the Steam storefront, remains a hot topic among the gaming community.

Community Reactions and Current Challenges

Fans are growing impatient as some expected a teaser or news by now. One disappointed player wrote on November 1, “We’re mid-Q4 2025. No news, no teasers, total silence.” Another expressed frustration over the absence of new characters and incomplete soundtrack, labeling the situation a “scam.” However, some players remain hopeful and are willing to change their reviews once more information is disclosed.

Although the Deep of Night mode, discovered by dataminers in August, launched in September, concrete updates on subsequent content have been sparse. While the financial report guarantees the DLC’s release by March 2026, it doesn’t rule out the possibility of an earlier launch before the end of 2025.

Gameplay Experience and Limitations

Despite the criticisms, when Elden Ring: Nightreign is experienced as intended, it stands out as a stellar three-player co-op game. However, the absence of crossplay, duo matchmaking, and in-built communication tools presents challenges, making it essential to play with friends for the best experience. The anticipation surrounding upcoming content remains high, with hopes that FromSoftware will soon break their silence with exciting news.
