Ghost of Yotei New Game Plus Mode Announced With Release Date and Free Patch Extras

Exciting news for fans of Ghost of Yotei as the game is set to receive a New Game Plus mode on November 24, courtesy of a free update from Sony. This update promises an even tougher experience with new armor sets, weapon dyes, mission replays, and additional accessibility options.

The PlayStation 5 exclusive from Sucker Punch will include not just the New Game Plus, but also fresh cosmetics, Trophies, and enhanced Photo Mode features. This is a chance for players to dive into Atsu’s quest once again, starting with everything earned throughout their initial journey. “Yes, that means it’s time to bring a gun to a sword fight, with all of the armors, abilities, and weapons from your first playthrough available from the start of the game,” shared Andrew Goldfarb, Senior Communications Manager at Sucker Punch Productions.

Details of the New Game Plus

Once the main story is completed, the New Game Plus will be unlocked, introducing a tougher difficulty setting and two additional Trophies. Players will encounter a new currency, Ghost Flowers, which can be exchanged for over 30 new cosmetics, including armor sets and weapon dyes, alongside 10 new charms. Plus, there’s an opportunity to further upgrade existing armor sets and weapons.

The update also brings exciting enhancements to the base game, such as post-game content replayability and a new stats display. Additional accessibility options like directional button remapping, along with new Photo Mode features, are part of the package.

Sales Performance and Future Prospects

Recently, Sony revealed that Ghost of Yotei sold 3.3 million copies in its first month, from October 2 to November 2. Its predecessor, Ghost of Tsushima, initially sold 2.4 million copies within its first three days in 2020 and eventually reached 13 million copies, including sales from the PC and PS5 Director’s Cut. Current sales data suggests Ghost of Yotei is on a similar track to success.

Looking ahead, Sucker Punch has hinted at future plans. According to a report, co-founder and studio head Brian Fleming mentioned that the studio will decide on its next project following the release of the multiplayer add-on, Ghost of Yotei: Legends. However, fans shouldn’t anticipate a surge in projects, as the studio plans to maintain focus on one project at a time.

In the meantime, players can explore various guides and tips to master Ghost of Yotei, covering everything from initial actions, essential skills, advanced combat techniques, and more.
