Gran Turismo 7 Surpasses 2 Million Monthly Players and Continues to Expand, Says Series Creator

Polyphony Digital’s racing sensation, Gran Turismo 7, has continuously captured the enthusiasm of players worldwide. Despite its release nearly four years ago, the game remains a favorite among racing fans.

Gran Turismo 7’s Unstoppable Momentum

During the Gran Turismo World Series 2025 World Finals, series creator and studio founder Kazunori Yamauchi shared exciting news. According to him, the game is regularly played by over two million players each month, showcasing an impressive and growing player base. Yamauchi noted that the game is in the best state compared to any previous Gran Turismo title, a phenomenon both new to the series and PlayStation.

Updates and Features Keeping the Track Hot

Polyphony Digital’s dedication to enriching the player experience is evident with its regular updates. The latest, Spec III (Update 1.65), launched on December 4, introduced eight new cars, including the Ferrari 296 GT3 ’23 and the Mitsubishi FTO GP Version R ’97. Players can also explore two new tracks: Yas Marina Circuit and Circuit Gilles-Villeneuve. Additionally, the update features a Data Logger, offering real-time comparisons of racing data.

Gran Turismo 7 also offers the Power Pack DLC for $29.99, adding 50 new races across 20 categories, along with six uniquely tuned cars and a bundle of 5,000,000 in-game Credits. However, fans continue to critique the aggressive microtransactions, which have affected review scores. Furthermore, the absence of a PC version remains a point of contention for some, as many PlayStation exclusives have already made the transition.

Future Prospects and Uncertain PC Port

Back in 2022, Kazunori Yamauchi mentioned the possibility of a PC version, sparking hope among PC gamers. However, he later clarified that while the possibility wasn’t zero, no active developments were underway. As the end of 2025 approaches, fans still await any updates regarding a potential PC release.
