GTA 6 Potential Gameplay Activities Revealed in Second Trailer

Rockstar Games recently announced that Grand Theft Auto 6 would be delayed from its original Fall 2025 release window to May 26, 2026. To help fans cope with the additional wait, the developer released a new trailer showcasing what appears to be various gameplay activities players might enjoy in the final game.

Following tradition from previous Grand Theft Auto titles, the trailer hints at numerous activities that could be available in GTA 6. Rockstar also shared additional screenshots featuring potential gameplay elements not shown in the trailer itself.

It’s worth noting that these activities aren’t confirmed for the final release. Previous GTA titles have offered players a wide range of everyday activities such as taxi driving and basketball, and GTA 6 will likely continue this trend, though official confirmation from Rockstar is still pending.

One early scene from the trailer shows protagonist Jason Duval exercising on a beach, reminiscent of GTA: San Andreas’ fitness mechanics. This raises questions about whether Jason’s physical appearance might change based on player actions, similar to earlier games in the series.

Potential Gameplay Activities

Contracting

The trailer first introduces Jason showcasing legitimate skills beyond criminal activities. Roof repair contracting might serve as both a legitimate income source and a front for Jason to scout potential targets for future heists.

Bodybuilding

Similar to GTA: San Andreas, where players needed to maintain Carl Johnson’s physique, Jason appears to have workout options. This suggests players might need to keep him in shape or face consequences for neglecting fitness.

Robbery

True to the series’ roots, the trailer shows Jason stealing money directly from a Bodega cash register. While this likely represents a smaller score, it could provide a consistent source of minor income throughout the game.

Bank Robbery

For larger payouts, bank robberies appear to be included. This sequence seems to be part of a story mission, though it remains unclear whether players can execute multiple bank heists or if this is a one-time narrative event. The developers may offer more complex robbery scenarios than previous titles, building on the heist mechanics that were central to GTA 5 and GTA Online.

Drug Smuggling

Jason appears involved in drug smuggling operations, likely as part of the main storyline rather than optional gameplay.

Community Service

Attentive viewers noticed that Lucia Caminos wears an ankle bracelet upon her prison release in the trailer. Later scenes show her in a community service vest when reuniting with Jason. This could potentially be incorporated as a minigame, offering a unique gameplay experience.

Drinking Games

Several cutscenes feature Jason and Lucia together, suggesting drinking games might be included as social activities.

Underground MMA

Lucia is briefly shown fighting an opponent in what appears to be an MMA-style ring, hinting at potential underground fighting circuit activities.

Recreational Activities

Water Sports

The trailer concludes with Jason and Lucia enjoying a jet ski ride, while Rockstar’s additional screenshots revealed kayaking options, adding surprising variety to the game’s water activities.

Mini Golf

Rockstar shared images of a mini golf course, an interesting addition to the GTA universe. Given the company’s history with sports simulations, this could be a fully-realized minigame.

Fishing

Jason appears able to go fishing in the game, though details about the mechanics remain unknown.

Traditional Games

Pool tables are shown in screenshots, fitting naturally within GTA’s universe of bars and social venues.

Basketball

A distant basketball court visible in one screenshot suggests this sport might return to the series.

Outdoor Activities

Building on Rockstar’s experience with hunting mechanics in Red Dead Redemption and GTA 5, hunting appears to return in GTA 6. Additionally, “gator shooting” is shown as a regional activity reflecting the game’s Florida-inspired setting (called Leonida in the GTA universe).

Racing and Exploration

Dirt bike racing against competitors seems to be an option, while stunning underwater screenshots suggest scuba diving will return from GTA 5, offering players opportunities to explore beneath the waves.
