GTA 6 Trailer Hints At PlayStation Connections

The latest trailer for Grand Theft Auto VI has fans buzzing, not just for its explosive action but also for some intriguing PlayStation-related details. While Rockstar hasn’t confirmed any major collaboration with Sony, eagle-eyed viewers spotted several nods to the gaming giant.

PlayStation Controllers And Console Spotted In-Game

One scene shows protagonists Lucia and Jason in their home, where two controllers resembling the PlayStation DualSense sit on a table. In the background, what appears to be a mock-up of a PS5 console can also be seen. Additionally, the trailer’s disclaimer confirms the footage was captured on a PlayStation 5, fueling further speculation.

Could This Hint At A Sony Partnership?

Given Rockstar’s history with PlayStation, these references aren’t entirely surprising. Past GTA titles, including GTA 3, Vice City, and San Andreas, initially launched as PlayStation exclusives due to deals with Sony. While later entries like GTA 4 and GTA 5 released simultaneously on Xbox and PlayStation, Sony has still secured promotional advantages, such as announcing GTA 5’s PS4 version during their E3 showcase.

Whether this means another exclusive deal remains unclear, but the inclusion of PlayStation imagery suggests at least some level of collaboration.

What’s Next For GTA 6?

After a delay, GTA 6 is now slated for a May 2026 release on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S. In the meantime, fans can dive into newly released screenshots and explore the confirmed characters and locations revealed so far.
