Guide to Discarding and Storing Items

In the early stages, players are required to purchase equipment through Schedule 1 in order to get started. However, this gear quickly becomes outdated and needs replacing. Additionally, some items that were initially beneficial may no longer be useful as the game progresses. Since there’s no way to sell these items, the only options available are to store them or dispose of them. Here’s how each method works.

Steps to Discard Equipment in Schedule 1

When inventory space starts to run low and the decision is made to eliminate outdated items, the discard feature becomes essential. This process begins by pressing the Tab key, which opens the Phone Menu. Upon opening the menu, a small red box becomes visible in the bottom-right corner of the screen.

To discard any unwanted equipment, players must click and drag the selected items into this red discard area. Entire stacks can be moved using the Left Mouse Button, while the Right Mouse Button allows for discarding individual items from a stack.

Once an item is dropped into the discard box, a visual cue appears in the form of a line circling the box. This animation lasts approximately five seconds, offering a brief window to retrieve the item if dropped by mistake. After that time elapses, the item is permanently deleted.

It’s important to remember that discarded items cannot be retrieved. If a player changes their mind after discarding something valuable, they’ll have to repurchase it from the game’s store.

How to Store Items Without Disposing of Them

When the intention isn’t to throw items away but rather free up space, storage becomes a practical alternative. Items—including equipment and shelves—can be stacked onto larger shelves for efficient organization. For example, it’s possible to store as many as 80 smaller shelves on one large unit.

Larger objects placed onto shelves are automatically transformed into compact boxes, making them easier to manage and less visually overwhelming. This method works well for those with enough space and a desire to keep older equipment instead of discarding it.

If players are unsure how to utilize the motel room after progressing to the Sweatshop, or wish to shift focus to the Bungalow after leaving the confined space above Mrs. Ming’s restaurant, these unused areas can function as storage zones. It’s a smart way to hold onto useful gear without cluttering up the primary workspace.
